Jeff has asked me several times to get my haircut short. I have never had short hair and always thought it would make my face look fat due to my full cheeks. Anyway yesterday I took the plung and I now have short hair. It is so wierd. Everytime I see myself in the mirror I laugh. It just doesn't look like me. Jeff loves it and so far everyone else seems to like it or they are just lying to me. I can't decide if I like it or not. This picture was taken by one of my coworkers when I returned to work with my fresh new look. Let me know what you think.

My Sweet Carter
This weekend I noticed that Carter was not feeling well. He was not eating, drinking or visiting the box. If Carter is not interested in food something is very wrong. He is my sweet 22 pound 6 year old cat, that I rescued from a filthy home in 2002 along with his sister Katie. Anyway, I took Carter to the vet on Sunday and they did some blood work. The inside of his mouth is covered in ulcers, so the vet told me to bring him back on Monday and they would clean his teeth. I dropped him off on Monday morning and as I was pulling into the parking lot at work the vet called. His bloodwork had come back and it was not good. Carter was in kidney failure which is common in cats but very uncommon for such a young cat. They put him on iv fluids and an antibiotic. I went to see him twice on Monday and he is pitiful. The vet I normally see called me today and said they wanted to monitor him one more day in the rare case it is a severe kidney infection, but more than likely it is a congenital kidney disease. Tomorrow may be my Carter's last day on earth. I am very sad and upset. Before Jeff and I got married, I didn't come home to an empty house, I came home to Katie and Carter. They are my family and I am so attached. I am so thankful the Lord gave me Carter and I have loved everyday with him. He has brought me so much joy!!! Say a prayer for me and my sweet Carter.

Kitten Update
Here are some more pictures of our twins. They are so sweet and get sweeter everyday. As I have mentioned in previous posts Katie and Carter do not like their new siblings. You will notice in some of the pictures that the kittens are not afraid of Carter. One night they kept cornering him, as if to say, "What is your problem with us. We just want to play!!" At least that is what I think they would have said if they could talk. Jeff also taught baby Connor (brown eyes) to play fetch. It is so cute. I tried to take a picture, but it was quite difficult. Jeff was laying on the couch and would throw a red mouse across the room. Connor would run to catch the mouse, would then bat it around for a minute and then would put it in his mouth and bring it back to Jeff. Who ever said cats weren't smart!!
Our First Anniversary!!
Our first Anniversary is on Sunday, August 24. A year ago today at about the same time as I am typing this post our wedding ceremony was beginning. It was such a perfect day and was everything I had dreamed it would be. Marriage on the other hand has not been what I dreamed. Just kidding!!!! Even though we dated for 9 years it took me several months to get adjusted to married life. We are, of course, the Fabulous Files and a year later everything is fabulous and just gets better. That is if you can get better than fabulous. We are headed to Destin for the week to celebrate and get some rest. Thank you all for your love and support over the last year and pray that we will have many more happy years together.
Olympics
Jeff and I are addicted to the Olympics. Most of you know that I am a night owl and it sure hasn't helped that the Olympics are staying on until 11:00 or later. Some nights I get so wrapped up in the Olympics that I am not getting to bed until 12:00 or later. Jeff is also staying up later than usual to watch. Anyway, I hope you all have enjoyed them as much as we have. GO USA!!

Neighborhood children
Jeff and I have made friends with three children in the neighborhood. They are originally from the country of Yemen which is close to Egypt. They are so sweet and roam the neighborhood most days on their bikes and scooters looking for anyone who is outside. They love attention!!! It seems that they do not get much attention and love at home. Jeff will play golf in the backyard with them and I let them plant plants and play with the cats. The oldest girl is Hannah, the middle girl, Gadhir, and the youngest boy is Nagen. We understand from the children that they will be moving to Hoover to attend Bluff Park. We will miss them in the neighboorhood, because they are so kind and sweet, however I think we will see them from time to time!!
New Babies
As most of you know I am a cat fanatic. I have had a cat since I was 6 years old. I moved into my house in December of 2001 and found my two sweet babies in the summer of 2002. They have been a blessing to me and also fun roommates. Katie is an 11 pound black and white short hair and Carter is a 22 pound long hair orange tabby. They have been my only babies since 2002. Well we now have 2 new additions to the Fabulous Files Family, Connor and Cecil. Jeff's mother's cat, Bitsy, had a litter of 5 kittens. We found homes for 3 of the 5 kittens. I begged and begged Jeff on numerous occasions to let us have the 2 orange tabby kittens. I even said that the Lord intended for us to have them because they were the 2 that no one else wanted. Still an emphatic NO from Jeff. Nothing seemed to be working. Then the Lord interveined (HeHe). On July 3rd Jeff was at his mother's house and called me at work to tell me that the blue eyed kitten was very sick and asked if I could come by and check on him. I went to Judy's house to find the blue eyed baby very sick. He was not moving and could barely breathe. I scooped up both kittens and rushed them to the vet. They both had upper respitory infections and had to be on antibiotics for 10 days. The vet was very concerned that they might not make it. Jeff was fishing, so Sarah Beth came over and helped me bathe them, give them their medicine and a flea treatment. We then named them Connor(brown eyes) and Cory(blue eyes). Cory was not doing well after his bath and we were very worried he would not make it through the night. I had to keep the kittens separate from Katie and Carter because they could pass on the virus to them. After 2 days the kittens made a remarkable recovery, Cory's name was changed to Cecil and they are still with us. I took them to the vet on Friday, 8/1 and the vet said they were doing great. Over the last 4 weeks Jeff continually said we needed to find them a home. I say they have a new home until he finds them one which he has not. He has becomed very attached to them and I think they will be with us for a long time. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos of our new twin boys!!
Beginning of the Files Blog
Well I am officially beginning the much anticipated and requested, "Fabulous Files" blog. This is definately a work in progress. I have enjoyed so many of my friends blogs that I decided to start one as well. What a fun way to stay in touch with family and friends that I do not get to see or converse with as much as I would like. Jeff and I have had a great first year of marriage. The first few months were not so fabulous, but everyday just gets better!! Even though we dated for 9 years we learn more about each other everyday!! Such as his snoring and my sometimes teeth grinding at night. Anyway we love it and look forward to many more years to come. I hope you will enjoy our blog as I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy yours. Cheers to "The Fabulous Files" blog!!!
